Important Announcement About Worship and Building Usage

COVID Response Team Announcement
Dear CLC Family,
Texas and other parts of the country have seen surges in positive cases and hospital admissions for the COVID-19 virus. Governor Abbott has ordered bars closed once again and reduced restaurant capacities back to 50%. Additionally Southwestern Texas Synod Bishop Sue Briner has issued a plea for ELCA congregations to suspend in person worship until, “the current rampant spread of the virus ends.” A link to Bishop Sue’s letter is included with this message.
After much deliberation and thought, the COVID Response Team (CRT) has decided to suspend in person worship beginning this Sunday, June 28th.
For those of you wishing to participate in at-home communion, pre packaged elements will be available for pickup in a container at the front of church between x and Sunday morning at 8:30am.
CLC will still be live streaming worship Sunday at 9:30AM as scheduled via YouTube. Links for worship can be found on our website or in the Friday Announcement email.
We appreciate your understanding of this last minute notice and our efforts to keep all of our CLC Family (staff, leadership, members, and guests) as safe as possible in these rapidly changing times.
Blessings & peace,COVID Response Team

Worship at Christ Lutheran Church (CLC) consists of a blend of traditional and contemporary liturgy styles.  We offer a place for your participation at the Lord’s Table (Holy Communion) at either our 8 am or 10:30 am worship services on Sunday.  We invite our members to take an active role in their worship experience by signing up to participate in any of the follow roles:

Stewards of Worship – Sign Up Genius

  • greeter at the front door of the sanctuary
  • greeter at the Ministry Center
  • usher, acolyte, scripture reader, sound room attendant, AV operator
  • leader of congregation in prayers of the people
  • sharing musical talents, either instrumental or vocal
  • lay worship assistant
  • Holy Communion assistant

We encourage parents and children of all ages to worship as a family.  We offer worship bags, children’s bulletins and materials to respond to worship with drawings or doodles to allow our younger members to engage in worship.  We also have a special time for a children’s message based on the Gospel reading for that Sunday.  If needed, we have a staffed nursery.

Our vision is to continue to grow as a vibrant community that gathers to praise and offer ourselves in worship to our Heavenly Father.
