Advent is the church season that takes place the four weeks leading up to Christmas. It is a time to pause and re-center in the midst of the busy-ness of life. It is a season of hope, peace, joy, and love and we prepare for the new things God is doing in the world to increase life and love forever and for all. The color of the season is blue, the color of the pre-dawn sky, a color that signifies our hopeful waiting and joyful expectation during Advent. We invite you to slow down, and join us in this season of waiting and watching.
Sundays at 9:30 AM we gather online and in-person for a time of worship, prayer, scripture, song, and community. You can join us in our sanctuary or live on our website, or on YouTube.
As always, everyone is welcome, so invite your friends, family, and neighbors!
Wednesdays at 6:45 PM we gather in our sanctuary and online for Holden Evening Prayer and focus in on our weekly theme with time to explore the active, participatory waiting to which we are called each Advent.
Come early at 6 PM for a soup supper in The Commons.
Come and learn with us what it means to wait faithfully
Carols & Community: December 22 from 5-7pm at The Palomino on 305 E Morrow St. in Georgetown we are gathering to (in the words of Buddy from Elf) spread Christmas cheer by singing loud for all to hear. Come eat, drink, make friends, and sing all your favorite Christmas songs.
Longest Night: A Quiet Christmas December 21 at 6:30pm we invite you to join us in our sanctuary for a calmer, quieter Christmas worship service that takes into account the grief, suffering, and pain many people carry during the holiday season yet still remembers that it is in this time of year, when the nights are longest that hope is born anew in Christ.
We have four worship gatherings on Sunday, December 24th
4:00 PM - A traditional Christmas Eve candlelight worship planned with kids and families in mind
7:00 PM - A traditional Christmas Eve candlelight worship including special music from our choir
10:00 PM - Christmas Eve candlelight worship that offers a quieter but no less celebratory tone
All afternoon and evening services include singing Silent Night by candlelight and all services include Holy Communion
