LETTER FROM CONGREGATION PRESIDENT:
May 17, 2021
Dear CLC Family,
The CLC Congregational Council continues to monitor CDC guidance and watch the vaccination rates and new COVID case rates in Williamson County. The safety of our staff and our members has always been - and continues to be - at the forefront of the decision making process. In light of the recent CDC announcement concerning vaccinations in relation to social distancing and wearing masks, your CLC Council took a special vote to move to masks optional beginning this Sunday May 23rd. This means that members attending worship may choose whether or not to wear a mask while inside the church building.
As outlined on the CDC’s website, we recommend that those who have not been vaccinated continue to wear a mask to protect themselves and others. CDC also recommends those that are immune compromised and those that are not yet comfortable continue to wear masks and choose safer group activities in which to participate. You can find out more at www.CDC.gov.
We will continue to make hand sanitizer available and keep every other pew open in the sanctuary so that our members can worship and make decisions on their own level of comfort when it comes to distancing and mask wearing. Our live stream of the 10:30 service will continue indefinitely.
Your CLC Council also approved an additional option for communion during worship and fellowship between services beginning in June. Staff is working with Council Committee Chairs to plan how best to administer communion and fellowship. Please look for more information in the coming weeks. Pre--packaged communion will still be an option for members worshiping at home or in person.
We pray: God, we are thankful for all the gifts you continue to bless us with. We are especially thankful that we are able to begin getting back to worshiping you, communing together, and experiencing fellowship with one another in ways that feel more like they used to. Thank you for walking with us through this wilderness of COVID-19. We ask that you continue to walk with us, bless us, and keep us safe, Amen.
In His Service,
Kevin Van Antwerp, Council President
