Prayer inspires and creates comfort in a world of anxiety, community in a culture of isolation, an anchor in the storms of life, and a catalyst for change that seeks the abundant life of all. We gather weekly on Sundays at 5pm, all are welcome and invited to bring your prayers and your need for prayer and together we Pray Without Ceasing

What will we do at a Pray Without Ceasing Gathering?

We plan to gather for 30-45 minutes. We will include song and scripture to help guide our prayer. Expect a variety of ways to pray: silent prayer, responsive prayer, prayer guided by a leader or leaders, perhaps even prayer stations or prayer around the cross, praying for and with one another.

For whom and what are we praying?

While we don’t want to limit the many things the Holy Spirit might move us to pray for, we expect the following to be included in our prayers:

We pray for peace, and for victims of war, violence, and persecution.

We pray for those who have lost jobs or vital services.

We pray for children, people with disabilities, elders.

We pray for those experiencing anxiety in the face of rapid change.

We pray for government leaders.

We pray for respectful conversation in our communities.

We pray for our congregation and for the renewal of the church.

And we pray for forgiveness for our sins against God and neighbor, and we ask that we might be renewed as faithful disciples, good listeners, and loving Christians.

What about those who desire their prayer to connect to action?

We agree that action is important. In fact, one way to pray without ceasing is by taking action based on our prayers. As we gather in prayer, we’ll likely hear the Holy Spirit’s call for our prayers that inspire action and we will hope to connect folks with resources and ministry partners where our faith can be active in love for our neighbors.
